Uttarakhand’s Eternal Flame: The Divine Wedding Ground
A curated voyage through Ukhimath’s winter seat to the celestial heights of Guptkashi
- Duration: 4 Days / 3 Nights
- Location: Uttarakhand, Northern India
- Destinations Covered: Rishikesh – Devprayag – Triyuginarayan – Guptkashi – Chopta – Ukhimath – Rishikesh
Embark on a profound spiritual odyssey to the site of the world’s most celebrated celestial union. This 4-day expedition centers on the Triyuginarayan Temple, an ancient stone marvel where, according to Vedic lore, Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati were wed in the presence of the Holy Trinity. This is a journey through the “Kedarkhand” region, where every stone tells a mythological story and every river confluence represents a cleansing of the soul.
At the heart of the temple burns the Akhand Dhuni, an eternal flame that has remained lit across three Yugas (epochs), serving as a silent witness to the divine vows. Beyond the wedding grounds, the pilgrimage takes you to Ukhimath, the winter seat of Lord Kedarnath, where the divine energy of the Himalayas rests when the high peaks are blanketed in snow.
Designed for devotees, couples seeking marital blessings, and seekers of Himalayan heritage, this program balances long, scenic mountain transits with moments of deep meditative silence. From the sacred kunds (ponds) believed to have cured celestial ailments to the Adi Shankaracharya-styled architecture, this journey is an invitation to witness the “Eternal Vows” that bind the universe together.
| Tour Highlights

Tour Highlights
Day 01: Rishikesh to Triyuginarayan | The Path of Confluences
A long, sacred mountain traverse through the heart of the Alaknanda & Mandakini valleys
The Essence: Your journey begins with a significant 9-hour drive, ascending from the foothills of Rishikesh. While the distance is substantial, we frame this as a "Day of Confluences," stopping at the major river junctions of Devprayag and Rudraprayag. The road serves as a spiritual transition, taking you from the vibrant energy of the Ganges to the quiet, thin air of the Triyuginarayan village, where the snow-capped peaks begin to dominate the horizon.
- Morning | The Sacred Ascent: Early morning departure from Rishikesh. Halt at Devprayag to see the Bhagirathi and Alaknanda merge to form the Ganges.
- Afternoon | Valley of the Gods: Pass through Rudraprayag and see the confluence of the Mandakini. Continue past Augustmuni toward the heights.
- Evening | Arrival at the Wedding Site: Reach Triyuginarayan by late evening. Check-in and enjoy a quiet dinner near the temple.
- Overnight: Triyuginarayan.
Day 02: Triyuginarayan & Guptkashi | The Eternal Vows
Deep immersion into the site of the Divine Union
The Essence: By staying locally, your second day is unhurried. You have the entire morning to participate in Poojas at the Triyuginarayan Temple without the pressure of a long drive. You can sit by the Akhand Dhuni, explore the four sacred Kunds, and feel the mythological weight of the Brahma Shila. The afternoon is a short, scenic transition to the historic town of Guptkashi.
- Morning | Spiritual Immersion: Dedicated time for Darshan and Pooja at the Triyuginarayan Temple. Offer wood to the eternal flame and explore the Saraswati, Vishnu, Brahma, and Rudra Kunds.
- Afternoon | To Hidden Kashi: A 2-hour drive to Guptkashi. Visit the ancient Vishwanath Temple and the Ardhnarishwar Temple.
- Evening | Market Stroll: Enjoy the local atmosphere of Guptkashi or relax at your hotel.
- Overnight: Guptkashi.
Day 03: Guptkashi to Ukhimath via Chopta | The Alpine Retreat
A day of high-altitude meadows and the Winter Seat of Kedarnath
The Essence: This "relaxed" addition takes you through Chopta, often called the Mini Switzerland of India. Instead of heading straight to the next temple, we spend the afternoon among the cedar and rhododendron forests. The day concludes at Ukhimath, the spiritual refuge where the gods "rest" during the harsh Himalayan winter.
- Morning | The Chopta Drive: Drive through the dense forests of the Kedarnath Wildlife Sanctuary to reach Chopta.
- Afternoon | Meadow Leisure: Enjoy a picnic lunch in the meadows or take a gentle walk. For the energetic, a short trek toward Tungnath is optional, but most guests prefer simply soaking in the views of Chaukhamba.
- Evening | Omkareshwar Temple: Continue to Ukhimath. Visit the Omkareshwar Temple to see the winter worship site of the Kedarnath Doli.
- Overnight: Ukhimath.
Day 04: Ukhimath back to Rishikesh | The Final Descent
Descending from the heights with the sacred ash of the eternal fire
The Essence: After a final morning prayer, we begin the return journey (approx. 8 hours) to the foothills. Because you are starting from Ukhimath (closer to Rishikesh than Triyuginarayan), the final day feels less taxing. You carry back the Bhasm of the eternal fire and the renewed energy of the high Himalayas as you descend back to the vibrant riverbanks of Rishikesh.
- Morning | Final Prayers: Attend the morning Darshan at Ukhimath. After a hearty breakfast, begin the descent.
- Afternoon | Riverside Transit: Traverse back through the winding roads, stopping for a final riverside lunch near the confluences.
- Evening | Arrival in Rishikesh: Reach Rishikesh by late evening, where your mythological journey concludes with sweet memories.
